The Hat District settled into a piece of Blendini City’s sustainable industrial might quickly. Hats became popular again in the world because of the growing heat. During the height of the global population’s migrations of 2075, the founders of Blendini knew that the world needed affordable, stylish hats more than ever to keep going.

Hats, hats, hats!

These buildings love to help make hats. Human hat entrepreneurs have produced thousands of hats for humans and hundreds for buildings. Not pictured in this scene of The Hat District, many of the younger buildings wear hats of their own, taking great pride in their look. There is a wide spectrum of hat types that are made in The Hat District. Some hats are stylish and practical. Others are more rugged and utilitarian. It all depends on the tastes of androids and humans alike.

The Hat District started small, but those businesses built success, stayed successful, and fostered a community of hat entrepreneurship. Over time, The Hat District has become one of the best places in the world to make hats.

Diversifying the local neighborhood economy

The Hat District has done well with hats as its economic base, but it’s also made successful attempts to keep itself resilient through diversifying its businesses. Breweries have become a big deal in The Hat District, as people love to get some beers, shop for some hats, and then have some more beers.

The proximity to good transit and Blendini Central also keeps the neighborhood as more of an extension of the central city, so it’s easy to start any kind of business. Mae’s Hat Shaped Cakes has also brought a lot of novel baking to the neighborhood. Please try the Famous Hat Sandwich! You won’t regret it.

I set up shop in The Hat District at about the turn of the century, so 2099 I think. The Hat District was different back then, but I’m not surprised. It’s been 50 years!! But I feel like my business has grown with the neighborhood itself. The hats have gotten cooler, more detailed, and diverse. I love that this neighborhood has grown up while still keeping its eccentricity. I feel like I’ve grown with the neighborhood rather than feeling left behind. High ownership rates have also kept a lot of us around. The fact I own my building has helped me stay around even through the growth.
