If there is a neighborhood in Blendini City that has the best all-around smells, it’s Bakers’ Row. From the smell of fresh-baked doughnuts to pies to ice cream, imagine all of these aromas and more rolled into one. While Baker’s Row is still a somewhat economically diverse neighborhood, baking is dominant here. You can’t help but smell the pleasant aromas of baking all around you.

This neighborhood is a sweet place, from Mr. Crust’s Pie Factory to Ms. Sugar’s Ice Cream Factory, it’s a confectionary paradise.

People come to Bakers’ Row from far and wide for all of the baked goods that are made, but lots of product is also shipped out. Bakers’ Row has excellent freight rail access to make this happen. My favorite spot in Bakers’ Row is featured right here in this image. Mr. Jim’s Doughnut and Bagel Society is a social club that encourages passionate makers and eaters of doughnuts and bagels. Some of the tastiest doughnuts and bagels have been made here thanks to this delightful social club.

Recently, Bakers’ Row has been making an effort to build more homes. Formerly a pretty single-use neighborhood, that previous strategy has become an issue for the local businesses to get regular customers and to attract people to work, especially in the sweets factories. Bakers’ Row has also had to compete more and more with Sweetboro Junction, which is a much larger manufacturer of sweets and baked goods. Building more homes in Bakers’ Row has been a positive force for rents and keeping the cost of housing under control.

Some buildings have been complaining that having more people living in the neighborhood has spoiled the smells, but it’s not that bad and I think it’s prevented the neighborhood from becoming too industrial for its own good.

There’s no limit in how to make a good bagel and a doughnut, but there are fundamentals that need to be mastered. The community that has formed in this resilient club has ensured that Blendini City is flooded with a variety of doughnuts and bagels that break the mold, but don’t skimp on the fundamentals.
