Made with locally sourced stone and handcrafted with many jewels and ornaments, the goal of the second City Hall was to communicate a new prosperity for the city and give citizens a prideful landmark. However, at the same time, the goal was to not be too opulent.
Another reason that the second City Hall is built with all locally found stone is to demonstrate how Blendini City has built itself with the natural environment rather than against it. This City Hall houses all of the legislative activities but a lot of the other municipal services are distributed around the city. Clusters of neighborhoods have access to a lot of city services that would normally be housed all in one central building.
In terms of the second City Hall’s personality, it’s not fully known yet if she thinks of herself as superior to the Mayor. Only time will tell…
The public square surrounding City Hall is about one square block and then in the background is the larger Central Woodlands. The Central Woodlands are part of a natural park system in the center of the city that gives many neighborhoods easy access to nature. Behind this image is the bustling Blendini Central. To get a sense of where this is, take a look at the Transit Map to see what I mean. The woods act as a donut hole in the middle of a city kind of shaped like a donut. I love donuts!
Old City Hall is still alive, by the way! You can find that more modest structure elsewhere in the Blendini Central neighborhood. Will there be another City Hall in the future? Probably not, but in case this one ever wants to retire, she has the option.
I love going to work at the second Blendini City Hall. It’s a building that I can gaze at with pride and I love hearing from the locals how much pride it gives them. Having been present since the city’s founding, I have to pinch myself sometimes. We’ve come so far.
Mason Carter, Blendini Mayor
