Blendini City has a strong local food distribution network, but it also has strong relationships with farms outside of the city limits, as well as within. Permaculture is appreciated and practiced all over the Blendonian region. This has resulted in many central markets peppered around the city. Blenini Market is certainly one of the most famous, with over 100 vendors that come from far and wide around the region.

A neighborhood built around a central market

Blenini Market has become such the beating heart of the neighborhood that in the year 2105, the neighborhood (formally known as Braxton Gulch) decided to adopt a new name after the market itself. So Blenini Market is now the name of the neighborhood AND its namesake central market. For Philadelphia residents who are reading this, think Reading Terminal Market when it comes to the scale of Blenini Market.

As you can see from this drawing, the Blenini Market has a lot of variety around it and is greatly supported by the canal for freight.

Seltzer production has become quite popular around here too!

People and buildings alike LOVE seltzer in Blendini City. Seltzer comes in all kinds of flavors and carbonation styles. Seltzer is more popular than soda in this city, and the flavors of the seltzer can get pretty wild. “Sepcial Seltzer” has became popularized as a medical remedy in addition traditional seltzer. The idea, of course, is to make taking special medicines more tolerable and even pleasurable.

I’d also like to add that for all of the businesses and residents of the neighborhood, the Blendini Canal itself serves a scenic and utilitarian purpose. A lot of freight does cross the canal, but it also looks quite beautiful. Take a stroll along the canal for its 5+ mile length. You’ll see a TON of neighborhoods along the way!

As the building who owns my central market, I’ve seen stalls that have served customers now for well over 50 years. We opened up shop in 2085, and so I can confidently say that for 75 years we have still been going strong. It’s exciting that new people still want to open up shop here and work alongside the old heads. The canal has also provided a direct route for commerce in addition to the freight rail. This keeps the goods cheap and easy to deliver to the Blenini Market. We’re lucky to have good transportation around these parts.
