Creators’ Row represents the spirit of Blendini City within a few blocks. Home to many creatives who are doing great things, arts thrive when intertwined and accepted within the community and the economy.
Bo Bo: The Crown Jewel Theater truly lives up to its name as the crown jewel of Creators’ Row. Showing stage plays and films, its theater space is well-adapted for all kinds of performances.
Move With Love is another anchor for Creators’ Row, offering yoga, wellness, south baths, concerts. and a lot more. India’s great cities specifically inspire the architecture of the MWL building. You’ll definitely see what I mean if you ever go to cities like Jaipur!
Creators’ Row has evolved organically over the years, with changes and adaptations over time depending on the residents, the buildings, and the economic conditions. This section of the central city is a bit older, too, so it’s been important for the residents to maintain the neighborhood and receive assistance from the city in some cases. What’s great to see is that rather than abandonment or cavalier demolition, adaptive reuse has been popular for the aging building stock.
The former Blendini Central regional rail station is a good example of this. The station needed to change to adapt to increased rail traffic both within the city and for destinations outside of the city, while also letting new development be built around it. So the former building is now used as an art gallery and coffee house. This building also neighbors a puppet theater, which is just delightful and you can often find the Mayor of the city being a patron there.
As a theater, it’s been a delight to see all the kinds of patrons, actors, and activites that have come in and out of my space. I’ve seen a lot of change, but also a lot of tradition. I think that change is inevitable, but it shouldn’t forget the positive traditions that thread our history and give us a common bond. I’m appreciative of the neighbors that have taken care of me, and make sure that I stay true to my name of being the Crown Jewel Theater of Blendini City.
